Bran is a feed source that can be obtained from wheat, oats, and rice, and consists of waste materials such as shell and crumbs that remain after sieving and grinding processes.

Bran has a high cellulose content and cannot be digested by the human body. However, most ruminant animals have enzymes that can digest this substance. Bran has therefore been used as animal feed since ancient times.

In the cattle feed mills that BK Engineers manufactures and installs, brans are pelleted together with other raw materials. Brans can be in powder form or pelleted. Pelleted bran provides a logistical advantage, and pre-pelleting improves the quality of the feed pellets.
